Reception's Rockpool experience

Reception took part in a Rockpool experience while visiting Tynemouth Aquarium. We were taught how rockpools are formed, the types of creatures that you might find in a rockpool and had the opportunity to touch starfish and a sea urchin. 

The children were amazing at answering questions asked by the staff of the aquarium and we learned a few new facts. Did you know that a starfish has 5 arms and each arm has an eye on the end? Or that sea urchins local to our area are edible?
