Scarlet Class Tree Planting

Today, the children in Scarlet Class were very lucky to take part in tree planting with Jess from the Royal Forestry Society.

After reading the text 'There's a Rang Tan in My Bedroom', children in Mrs Wilson's reading group took an interest into deforestation. We knew that when the opportunity for tree planting came up, we absolutely had to help out!

We followed the instructions carefully and worked as a team to plant 162 tree saplings! Grown ups - you should definitely get your children helping out in the garden. We have a class full of green fingers!

In the future, our saplings will grow into a hedgerow that may become a habitat for a range of animals from butterflies to nesting birds to hibernating hedgehogs. We love that our work today will live on for years at Fell Dyke - well beyond when we leave.
